Dr. Afifa Sarwar (PT)

Dr. Afifa Sarwar is a Lecturer at the Department of Physical Therapy, Qarshi University, Lahore, Pakistan.
She holds an advanced M.Phil. in Physiology and a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree, specializing
in the intersection of fundamental medical sciences and clinical rehabilitation. Her postgraduate
experimental research focused on contributing to the field of hepatoprotective physiology and oxidative
stress mechanisms.
Dr. Afifa Sarwar earned her M.Phil. in Physiology following her academic foundations rooted in research
regarding breast cancer survivors. She is currently working as a clinical physiotherapist with over five
years of experience in her field. Along with that, she is currently serving as a core faculty member at
Qarshi University, where she instructs undergraduate Allied Health Sciences students. Her research
focuses on applied and translational physiology, musculoskeletal tissue repair, and rehabilitation
sciences, with a strong emphasis on integrating basic physiological principles with clinical practice.
Beyond her scientific pursuits, Dr. Afifa’s passion for creative writing and literature has led to a notable
scholarly and artistic footprint; she has authored several creative pieces and contributed real-life stories
to “Our Life Logs”, a prominent U.S. magazine. Within the university, she is actively involved in
curriculum development and the creation of infographic-based teaching materials to enhance
pedagogical standards.
